Dancing in the Rain! Hansgrohe celebrates 10 years of its revolutionary Raindance shower

Transformative design concept evoking showering pleasure for a decade

Dubai, UAE, 21 October, 2013 - Hansgrohe, the luxury bathroom fittings specialist, is celebrating 10 years since it transformed the way people shower in the Middle East with the revolutionary ‘Raindance’ product range. Over this decade the sensual Raindance has been constantly changing and has set many bathroom trends.

First introduced in 2003, the bathroom environment was transformed with Raindance’s modern and futuristic design, which redesigned the shape and look of traditional hand showers. By introducing a large spray disc with three times as much surface, a flat silhouette, and a short handle to optimise the water spray quality, Hansgrohe forever reengineered the shower with the ultimate in showering pleasure in mind.

Complete with Raindance AirPower, the intelligent shower technology enriches water with air, giving rise to plump, soft droplets that bubble out of the spray disc like natural rain to gently caress the skin. The combination of water and air has also allowed consumers to save water more efficiently over the years, which is essential in the Middle East where water consumption is high, without impacting the high-quality water flow that Hansgrohe products are so famous for.

Raindance continues to be as popular today among consumers and commercial specifiers, as when it was first launched. Guests and residents staying at some of the most prestigious hotels and developments in the region, such as Park Hyatt, Hyatt Capital Gate and Masdar City in Abu Dhabi, Sofitel Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Creekside Hotel in Dubai, Qatar Pearl, and the Fairmont Hotel in Mecca, are able to enjoy the revolutionary shower experience.

Dirk Schilmoeller, Sales Director Middle East for Hansgrohe, says, “With the introduction of Raindance, Hansgrohe truly revolutionised showering, and the way designers think about the shower. You simply have to remember what hand showers looked like before Raindance - they were bulky products with a small spray disc and a thick head.

“With the introduction of Raindance, Hansgrohe moved away from this and emphasised the enjoyment and sensual use of water. The large spray disc, the flat design and the elegant, ergonomic lines were something completely new, a new archetype that transformed showering from a monotonous daily task to a luxurious pleasure.”

First designed by Phoenix Design in their prestigious studio in Stuttgart, Hansgrohe has introduced a number of innovative products to the Raindance family over the years. With a style to suit every taste, the range includes shower wall bars, shower supports, shower sets, and shower combinations, enabling customers to benefit from a multitude of options in terms of comfort and pleasure.

Shower systems such as shower pipes and shower panels have also been developed, along with complete solutions comprising a hand shower, an overhead shower, and a mixer. With Raindance shower solutions, Hansgrohe has opened up the attractive market for bathroom renovation since products are easy to install and quick to refit, without needing to break the walls. This wide array of design and renovation options has made Raindance especially popular in the booming regional hospitality industry.

For the 10 year anniversary, Hansgrohe and Phoenix Design are continuing to write the best-seller's development history with the Raindance ‘Select’ range. Transforming shower operations from the twisting of nobs, shower delights can now be realised at the simple push of a button, which is ergonomically placed at the front of the handle to change between the various spray types.
